The New Mexico Museum of Fine Arts featured an exhibition of paintings by many of the artists featured on this page during the summer of 2005. The show reached beyond the usual New Mexico offerings of the Taos Society of Artists to focus upon some of the less well known master artists from the Southwest. The exhibit, titled The West Through My Eyes: Highlights from the Private Collection of Bill Schenck, ran from June 24th through September 4th. For those of you who missed the exhibition, a book featuring many of the works in Mr. Schenck's collection is also available. Titled Serenading the Light and written by David Clemmer, it was published by Schenck Southwest press in 2003 (ISBN # 0971915024). |
